Due to their wide temperature and humidity range and higher tolerance of chemical pesticides, they have become a staple of biocontrol. When treating ongoing Spider Mite infestations, use with Persimilis is highly suggested, as N. californicus is a slower feeder than other predatory mites.

Bottles: Let the predatory mites come to room temperature with container on its’ side. Roll or tip, depending on whether a bottle or bag, container back and forth a few times to gently mix contents and then tap out of container onto the affected foliage for best results. When left in one position for too long, predatory mites will gather at the top, leaving the bottom with a much lower proportion of mites, so rotating the container as it is being tapped out is suggested. Alternatively, contents can be placed in Bugboxes and hung on plants.
Sachets: Hang sachets on plant midway up the trunk of the plant, close to the center. Sachets already have an exit hole for the mites. There is no need to open them. 1-2 sachets per 10 sq ft is recommended for preventative maintenance.
